This year at the Edible Pedal 100, be on the lookout for Reno’s newest cyclists, the Major Taylor Ride Club. Reno Bike Project started this program to introduce cycling to the young people who need it most. The Ride Club works with organizations that serve at-risk youth, giving them access to a healthy, sustainable, and economical lifestyle. None of these kids would be riding bikes were it not for the Major Taylor Program and Reno Bike Project.
To celebrate the achievements of these young people, and instill a lifelong love of cycling, the Edible Pedal 100 has invited all club members to ride in the event. They’ll be wearing their program shirts and riding Specialized Allez. When you see the Major Taylor Ride Club, be sure to give them a piece of friendly encouragement, or even better, pull them along for few miles.
