Rest stops are provided approximately every 15 miles for all routes. Each stop is supplied with water, refreshments, rest room facilities and friendly Rotarians. Please keep your water bottle with you throughout the ride. In the interest of being eco friendly, we will have no disposable cups. A detailed route sheet with map and mileage is provided for each route, as well as road direction arrows and radio dispatched SAG support. We are honored to have members of the Washoe County Amateur Radio Emergency Services assist with complete course communications. Please say hi to the HAM radio folks as you pass through the ride stops. They will be checking off your bib number so we know you’re not out on the road somewhere. We want you to be safe and have fun.
SAFETY
This event is a ride not a race. Ride safely, be courteous, and obey all traffic laws. Please ride single file on all roads and stop at all stop signs.
NV Revised Safety Statutes for Bikes.
All riders must wear an ANSI or Snell approved helmet at all times. NO HELMET – NO RIDE.
PARKING
Please watch for the University of Nevada ROTC squad, with their stellar assistance with traffic and parking, and slow down – a lot – when you start to see the road cones – as the entrance to Bower’s Mansion comes up fast. They will direct traffic so we can maximize parking. In addition to the Bowers Mansion parking lots, parking will be available at the Franktown Meadows Equestrian Facility
Even with the generous use of Franktown Meadows parking, we ask that you carpool where possible-it’s just good for the planet! If you’re coming from Reno, there is ample parking on the south end of town at the Summit Mall, Wal-Mart on Damonte or Raley’s on the Mt. Rose Hwy.
